At Altogether, we strive to create a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for all our users. These Community Guidelines outline acceptable behaviour on our platform and ensure compliance with relevant legal frameworks in the UK, EU, and US. By using Altogether, you agree to follow these guidelines and applicable laws.
- Respect Others
Treat all users with kindness and respect. Abusive, threatening, or harmful behaviour is strictly prohibited.
- Harassment: Do not engage in harassment, bullying, or any form of discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or nationality. Violations of these policies may lead to legal consequences under UK Equality Act 2010, EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, and US Civil Rights Laws.
- Hate Speech: Hate speech, including any content that promotes violence, intolerance, or hatred, is not allowed. In the US, while freedom of speech is protected by the First Amendment, it does not protect hate speech or threats of violence under laws such as the Hate Crimes Prevention Act.
- Protect Your Privacy and Others’
Maintain the privacy of your personal information and respect the privacy of others.
- Do not share sensitive personal information (e.g., phone numbers, home addresses, financial details) without explicit consent, in compliance with privacy laws such as the UK Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR (EU), and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
- Do not use Altogether to collect personal data from others without their consent.
- Post Appropriate Content
- Inappropriate Content: Avoid posting content that is offensive, vulgar, or discriminatory. Violations could lead to penalties, including account suspension or removal of content.
- Intellectual Property: Respect the intellectual property rights of others. Posting copyrighted content without permission may result in legal action under UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, EU Directive on Copyright, and US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
- Be Honest and Transparent
- Impersonation: Do not impersonate others or provide false or misleading information. Impersonation or fraudulent activities are subject to legal penalties under laws such as the UK Fraud Act 2006 and US Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act.
- Honest Representation: Always provide accurate and honest details in your profile and posts. Misinformation and deception can lead to removal of content or suspension of your account.
- Follow All Applicable Laws
Ensure that your actions on the platform comply with local, national, and international laws.
- Illegal Activities: Do not post content or engage in actions that promote illegal activity, such as fraud, violence, or the sale of illegal goods. Violations of this policy may lead to immediate account termination and be reported to authorities in compliance with the UK Criminal Justice Act, EU eCommerce Directive, and US Federal Communications Decency Act.
- Report Violations
If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, report it through our in-app reporting tools. We are committed to investigating all reports promptly and taking appropriate action, such as content removal or account suspension.
- We comply with Article 19 of the EU GDPR regarding the reporting of unlawful content and relevant disclosures under US Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
- Use Appropriate Language
Ensure that the language you use in posts, comments, or messages is respectful and appropriate.
- Offensive language, discriminatory slurs, or vulgarity will not be tolerated and may result in action under hate speech and anti-harassment laws in the UK, EU, and US.
- Post Appropriate Images and Media
- Image Use: Images or media containing offensive, vulgar, discriminatory, or violent content are prohibited. This includes content that may infringe on the rights of others, such as copyrighted materials.
- Legal Standards: This aligns with the UK Obscene Publications Act, EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive, and US Communications Decency Act.
- Enforcement and Consequences
We reserve the right to take action if these guidelines are breached, including:
- Content Removal: Content that violates our policies will be removed.
- Account Suspension or Termination: Severe or repeated violations may lead to suspension or permanent termination of your account.
- Legal Reporting: We may report illegal behaviour or content to law enforcement, as required by applicable law.

- UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and Data Protection Act 2018 for privacy.
- UK Equality Act 2010 and US Civil Rights Laws for anti-discrimination.
